Halton Service Station, Wendover

Working with Greg Laye Ltd. Camerons prepared a pre-application advice request and supplementary Planning Report to Aylesbury Vale District Council to support the redevelopment of the brownfield site to create 10 new flats.

The former petrol station now operating as a vehicle repair shop and MOT service centre is in Wendover in Aylesbury Vale District.

Wendover is a market town with a substantial history, ‘nestling’ in the Chiltern Hills.  It also hosts a main line station to London as well as the terminus of a spur of the ‘Grand Union Canal’. Wendover is currently identified on the proposed route for the HS2 railway project from London and the North, but the line passes some way from the proposed application site.

Although on the edge of Metropolitan Green Belt, the site provides an excellent brownfield opportunity for much needed mixed housing, both for those wishing to get onto the property ladder for the first time and for those wishing to downsize by way of a new flatted development.     Its redevelopment will also enhance views and the appearance of the approach into Halton village.
